Sketch for Personalised Item

If you would like to see a design before your piece is made, I offer a simple hand-drawn sketch to guide the process.

This is a loose and considered drawing, giving a sense of placement, pattern and lettering, rather than a precise or finished artwork. It allows us to refine the idea together and make sure everything feels right before I begin painting.

Some people find this helpful when planning a more detailed inscription or a particular arrangement of motifs, while others are happy to leave the design in my hands.

The sketch is created in the same spirit as the finished work, with a focus on balance, flow and the character of the piece.

Once agreed, I will go on to make and paint your pottery, interpreting the design in my usual way, so the final piece always retains the softness and individuality of hand-painted work.
